Samarkand Concentric Medallion Hand-Knotted Wool Rug - Light Blue /

A tiered octagonal medallion anchors an expansive architectural field framed by repeating geometric borders. A luminous ivory ground establishes a gentle, low-contrast foundation for subtle light blue and greige motifs. Tied one knot at a time. The process is slow and exacting, and the rug holds its pattern and structure for generations. The 1/4-inch pile is sheared close to keep the detailed architectural geometry legible and defined. Pure wool gains luster and depth of character the longer it lives in a home. Samarkand Rugs are masterful renditions of classic Khotan rugs. This collection showcases the fine weaving traditions of ancient Uzbek tribesmen, with timeless, hand-knotted motifs displayed in a low cut, pure wool pile. The clarity of design and soft feel of Samarkand rugs adds distinctive charm to room decor. Concentric octagonal bands radiate outward from a floral core, balanced by geometric cartouches and a wide palmette border. The balanced symmetry anchors traditional and transitional interiors with timeless restraint. An ivory ground carries soft slate blue, dusty sage green, and cool grey linework, settled and quiet underfoot. The mellowed tones balance natural sunlight across an open room.
