Samarkand Diamond Medallion Hand-Knotted Wool Rug - Beige / Gold

Stepped tribal diamonds repeat in a balanced grid across an open field, framed by a delicate vine border. A warm ivory ground carries the geometric motifs in soft tan and gold tones with medium contrast. Tied one knot at a time. The process is slow and exacting, and the rug holds its pattern and structure for generations. The 1/4-inch wool pile is sheared close to keep the geometric motifs crisp underfoot. Pure wool naturally gains luster and character with age. Samarkand Rugs are masterful renditions of classic Khotan rugs. This collection showcases the fine weaving traditions of ancient Uzbek tribesmen, with timeless, hand-knotted motifs displayed in a low cut, pure wool pile. The clarity of design and soft feel of Samarkand rugs adds distinctive charm to room decor. Stepped geometric diamonds contain stylized palmettes and foliate motifs, arranged in staggered rows. A narrow running border provides clean traditional definition. An ivory ground carries warm tan and gold yarns. The sun-settled earthy tones bring warmth to neutral interior spaces.
