Samarkand Palmette Bordered Hand-Knotted Wool Rug - Rust / Beige

A classical Oushak-inspired botanical layout frames a warm central field with an expansive palmette and vinework border. A rich rust ground balances with warm beige motifs in a medium-contrast pairing that brings depth to the traditional design. Tied one knot at a time. The process is slow and exacting, and the rug holds its pattern and structure for generations. The 1/4-inch pile is sheared close to keep the detailed palmettes crisp and clear underfoot. Pure wool gains a gentle patina the longer it lives in a room. Samarkand Rugs are masterful renditions of classic Khotan rugs. This collection showcases the fine weaving traditions of ancient Uzbek tribesmen, with timeless, hand-knotted motifs displayed in a low cut, pure wool pile. The clarity of design and soft feel of Samarkand rugs adds distinctive charm to room decor. A traditional Persian composition distributes oversized palmettes and trailing vine motifs across the main field and wide framed border. The balanced spacing gives classical symmetry a relaxed, heritage feel. A rich rust ground supports creamy beige, mustard gold, and soft slate blue accents across the field and border. The warm, settled tones bring depth to high-ceilinged interiors.
