Samarkand Palmette Floral Bordered Hand-Knotted Wool Rug - Blue

A classical Persian allover design balances stylized palmettes and geometric floral rosettes across an expansive field framed by a guard border. A blue ground sets off a gentle, warm tonal contrast of camel, greige, and gray. Tied one knot at a time. The process is slow and exacting, and the rug holds its pattern and structure for generations. The 1/4-inch wool pile is cropped close so the intricate botanical motifs stay legible underfoot. Pure wool gains depth and sheen the longer it lives in a room. Samarkand Rugs are masterful renditions of classic Khotan rugs. This collection showcases the fine weaving traditions of ancient Uzbek tribesmen, with timeless, hand-knotted motifs displayed in a low cut, pure wool pile. The clarity of design and soft feel of Samarkand rugs adds distinctive charm to room decor. Stylized palmettes, geometric rosettes, and scrolling vines repeat in a balanced, traditional field without a single central medallion. A patterned band border frames the open layout. A dusty blue ground carries accents of terracotta, walnut, sage, and pale cream, settled rather than bright. The mellowed blue tones ground a sunlit room without overwhelming surrounding furnishings.
