Safavieh Samarkand Stylized Palmette Hand-Knotted Wool Rug - Blue / Grey

A classical Persian allover composition grounds traditional palmettes and geometric botanical motifs within an architectural guard border. Cool blue and grey tones blend softly across the field with low, tonal contrast. Tied one knot at a time. The process is slow and exacting, and the rug holds its pattern and structure for generations. The 1/4-inch wool pile is cropped close so the detailed motifs remain clear underfoot. Wool gains sheen and depth the longer it lives in a home. Samarkand Rugs are masterful renditions of classic Khotan rugs. This collection showcases the fine weaving traditions of ancient Uzbek tribesmen, with timeless, hand-knotted motifs displayed in a low cut, pure wool pile. The clarity of design and soft feel of Samarkand rugs adds distinctive charm to room decor. Classical palmettes, stepped vines, and geometric rosettes repeat across a balanced traditional field, framed by a layered border. The motif spacing creates an open, collected feel. A weathered blue field holds motifs in cream, soft grey, and slate accents. The muted composition settles a bright room without feeling heavy.
